FK Bečej

OFK Bečej 1918 (Serbian Cyrillic: ОФК Бечеј 1918) is a football club based in Bečej, Serbia.
==History==

FK Bečej qualified for national top league for the first time in 1992, when they won promotion to the 1992–93 First League of FR Yugoslavia, the first season after the breakup of former Yugoslavia. They managed to stay clear of relegation, by finishing 12th. In next season they finished 10th and in 1994–95 they surprised everyone, by finishing 4th, just behind the favourites Red Star, Partizan and Vojvodina earning thus a place in 1995 Intertoto Cup. There they lost against Farul Constanţa (1-2), AS Cannes (0-1) and Dnepr Mogilev (1-2), but have beaten Pogoń Szczecin (2-1). In 1995–96 they repeated the 4th place from the previous season, this time earning a place in the 1996–97 UEFA Cup. There they lost in the preliminary round to NK Mura (0-0 and 0-2). However, following season showed that the success of club was only temporary, with club finishing in, still respectable, 11th place. 24th place in season 1997-98 season meant that they have been relegated to the FR Yugoslav Second League, where they competed until 2004. Afterwards, further relegations followed, taking the club to compete in regional leagues. In 2010-11 season, the club was relegated again, finishing on the last, 16th place in Područna fudbalska liga - Novi Sad. This meant that, once successful club, played in 2011-12 season, in Međuopštinska liga Srbobran-Vrbas-Bečej (level 6 in Serbian league pyramid), which is the lowest level of football in Serbian football league system, for clubs from this part of country. In April 2012, FK Bečej changed its name to OFK Bečej 1918. In the season 2012-13, Bečej secured a promotion to the PFL Novi Sad (5th tier), by winning the league.
